This painting has one of the first appearances of the linear style I use which is now typical of my Horizons series. It developed from a more abstract treatment of the scene using shapes and gradients, which can bee seen in the sky and some of the land. The scene is from a track in the Black Mountains in Wales, where when the sun comes out in mid-summer, the colours of the ferns and bracken come to life and is a glorious place to be.
